I got some RSVPs so I attended this magnificent concert Featuring The Jersey Girls and 7th Heaven. Milanne & Dave got there early and I was driving to the concert and it was “raining,” so I called Dave and he said, “it’s just a fine mist.” So this event was still a GO. So I got there “fashionably late.” The rain threatened throughout the entire performance, but all we ended up with was a few light sprinkles.
Milanne & Dave were easy to find, because we always sit near the same place (away from the police tent). We had plenty of stuff to eat, 7th Heaven played 48 songs in 30 Minutes this year, I knew, maybe half of them, they always draw a big crowd, plus there were about 200 7th Heaven Groupies there dancing in front of the stage with their ear-splitting volume, with their fancy dancing and high kicks. They had a drone hovering over us, to make sure nobody would shoot an ear off one of the 6 band members I had toilet paper stuffed in my ears (because 7th Heaven was playing music in the 7,000 db range), so I once again looked quite distinguished. One thing I didn’t like about 7th Heaven in the past was their blinding flashing strobe lights, but this year there they toned it down.
Since we brought our own booze in massive quantities we didn’t bother to get a drinking bracelet from the cops (which would’ve made us official drinkers, which is quite an honor. We also found out who all the major sponsors were, a few times actually. The first band (The Jersey Girls) quit playing at 6:30 and 7th Heaven started at 7:30 PM, so plenty of time to review the vendor and sponsor status. The Jersey Girls comprised of three young women who (looked like sisters) and sang without a band, they used prerecorded background music, also they did not sing any 4 season songs (as their name implies) they sang 70-90 hits and were terrific. Prior to my arriving they did a “Conga Line” throughout the audience. Dave said he would’ve joined the Conga Line, but he would’ve ended up spilling his beer!
